It is always such an honor to photograph an extended family photography session. I know how much they value photography to coordinate multiple families getting together at the same time. I know it can be no easy task to get one family together for family photos. You would think as a photographer I have a lot of family photos of my family. Well, let me tell you a story. At the beginning of the school year, 2 out of my 3 kids came home with homework to bring in photos. They needed a few photos, one being a family photo. Now, I have a large canvas hanging in my living room, but it’s from 3 years ago. I looked around and had NO small prints. Next step was to go through all my images on the computer. I went back 2 years!! I have since fixed that problem, because as a family photographer how can I encourage others the importance of family photography when I was behind on my own family! I will be hiring someone for next year, because it can be a challenge with tripod, but something is better than nothing! OK, so back to this amazing family, that got everyone together for an extended family photography session! I was told that they do group photos every 10 years. I absolutely love that and I think my next mission will be to get my extended family together!

I had a BLAST with the H family. I don’t think I’ve laughed so much at a session before. Everyone was amazing and despite a few flies, we got through it! I love all the different groups we were able to get in. Of course we got the big group photo and with all my extended family sessions, also got individual families. We got the grandparents with their grandkids and individual images of the kids. These are images they will have for a lifetime and passed down to future generations <3.
