Songs of Life | When You Grow Up

Welcome back to the Songs of Life blog circle.  If you missed last month you can see it here. Each month we are given a song and can interpret it any way we would like.  It could be from the song title, song lyrics, or the overall theme/message from the song as inspiration for the images.  This month the song is “When You Grow Up” by Priscilla Ahn. You can listen to it here.

As a parent, I think we always look at our kids and wonder what they will be like as they get older.  Whether that is a year from now, or twenty.  It’s fun to see what they like doing now and think if they will enjoy the same things as an adult and what type of career they might end up with.  I used some of the song lyrics for my interpretation.  When you are done make sure to click the link to the next photographer in the blog circle!

When you were young enough
Doing all that fun kid stuff
Did you think of what you’d be?

When you grow up, what kind of boy will you be?
Oh, what will you be?

Drawing pictures with some chalk
Raindrops wash it from the walk
Summer days it never ends

When you grow up, what kind of girl will you be?
Oh, what will you be?

I hope you enjoyed my interpretation of “When You Grow Up”.  Next up is the very talented Alauna.  Click the link to see how she interpreted the song!
