I was so excited to see Holly again. She is the cutest Weston CT baby and it’s always a joy to photograph her. This time she was in the studio for her Alice in ONEderland cake smash. How cute is that theme!? Cake smash sessions are a lot of work to coordinate and put together, but I always love the end results. Crafting is a hobby of mine that I don’t do as often as I like. However, cake smash sessions let me craft away and use my creativity.

The first setup was simple with shades of purple and a little gray. Since my cake smash sessions are often colorful and elaborate, I love the first part of the portrait session to be more simple.
Alice in ONEderland
Wow, this has got to be one of my all time favorite cake smash setups. I started right away thinking about how I’d design the set up. Mom asked if we could do a tea party and requested colors of blue, and purple. We also added in a touch of yellow. We sent many emails back and forth as we were putting this set together. Mom made the sign and brought in the tea pot and cups. I made the pinwheel background. The blue pettiskirt I already had was perfect and I found some beads to make the adorable chunky necklace! As always, the fabulous cake was made by Who Wants Cake.
I always take a couple photos before the birthday girl or boy dives in. The perfect setup does not remain perfect for long!
Miss Holly was already standing and walking. This makes for a bit more challenging cake smash, but awesome for images like this!
